Are jorts the new mullet?

Susan ~ 1 year ago

Both of my older brothers wear jorts, which is embarrassing to me, but they actually blend in with the rest of the coaches on the little league fields in middle Georgia. It's a magical place where time stands still. The mean wear jorts and neon sunglasses, and the women have spiral perms and foofy bangs; their eyes lined with cobalt blue mascara. I get nostalgic just thinking about it.

Jorts and neon sunglasses could be the greatest combo ever. I bet the percentage of men with mustaches is higher than the national average in this magical place as well.

Susan let me know where in Georgia this is. I must plan my next vacation.

How did you know both of my brothers have mustaches!? While many tourists flock to Wal-mart for jorts-spotting, the ballfields truly are the best place to observe jorts in their natural habitat. The fields of which I speak can be found at the intersection of New Coke and REO Speedwagon, or as most people call it, "Bonaire". When you go, be sure to tell them what a huge Dale Murphy fan you are - they'll take good care of you.

Susan,

I've commissioned a local writer to write a short story with the opening lines of

"While many tourists flock to Wal-mart for jorts-spotting, the ballfields truly are the best place to observe jorts in their natural habitat. The fields of which I speak can be found at the intersection of New Coke and REO Speedwagon, or as most people call it, “Bonaire”"

Because that is the start of the next great American novel.

Awwww, it's so nice to be appreciated. :)

OK, I just had to revive this topic. Bear, if you haven't made the trek yet, you can watch the pride of Warner Robins in the Little League Championship game this Saturday on ABC at 3 EST. WR is my hometown; Bonaire is the part of town where the new ballfields are (also higher concentration of jorts). Check the stands and I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.
